Both degrees were earned at East Carolina University in her home state of North Carolina. Throughout the following 3 years, Maggie recognized a how important it is to seek out and utilize all therapeutic and medical techniques available to provide patients with a truly individualized care plan. Thus, Maggie received extensive training with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). Presently, she sits on several ASCH committees including the Regional Workshop Committee, Standards of Training Revision Committee, Mentoring & Outreach Taskforce, and Annual Workshop Committee 2018, 2019 & 2020. Maggie has also presented to various professional organizations including the 2017 Annual Employee Assistance Professional Association Conference and the 2019 Annual American Society of Addiction Medicine Conference.

While chronic pain and the opioid epidemics are a relatively new focus for many, Maggie has been diligent in implementing new chronic pain treatment protocols and breaking the boundaries within the medical and psychological communities for most of her career. Currently, Maggie is using her education, training, experience, and passion to develop the only comprehensive behavioral health department housed in a prominent pain management clinic. Sprintz Center for Pain is proving this innovative approach is greatly needed and highly effective at restoring a person’s life despite chronic pain syndrome and/or chemical dependency.

For Maggie suffering isn’t an option, and neither is the status quo. Which is why when she is not at work, Maggie can be found traveling the world and spoiling her “fur-baby” Trixie Mae.
